Tonga's biggest annual budget of 483.7 million Pa'anga or $US259 million has been presented to Parliament by the Minister of Finance, Dr 'Aisake Eke, who also added that 59 percent of it will be financed from aid donors.

A Tongatapu People's Representative, Dr Sitiveni Halapua, has expressed his concern over the reliance of Tonga on foreign aid donors to balance the national budget.





Even though Tonga's economic capability is so short that the country budget relies heavily on aid, as Korea, developed drastically in only about 50 years, Tonga must seek many way to overcome instability of money.

The Tongan government says it is overhauling its policies in a bid to deal with what it says is the biggest killer in the region - obesity.

The Global Burden of Disease Study shows half of the adult population in Tonga is obese, making it the most obese country in the world.

Obesity can threat human's health seriously. So, many proper solutions for Tonga's residents health about money, groceries, technique of medical treatment, etc, must be made correctly as soon as possible.

Strong earthquake near Kermadecs

A 6.9-magnitude earthquake has struck near New Zealand's Kermadec Islands at a depth of 20km, the US Geological Survey says.

The Kermadecs are made up of a chain of about 80 volcanoes, stretching for 2600km between Tonga and New Zealand. The area is well-known for volcanic activity and earthquakes.





Main instigator of earthquake, Kermadec, is near the Tonga, and that area is at work now. Therefore, before the big tsunami or land cracking attack to Tonga, this country's residents must contrast sufficiently about earthquake as much as possible.
